Day to Night by Stephen Wilkes
In 2000, Stephen was commissioned by 'Epson America ' to make a portrait of the United States and these are part of it.

He went to a high building and continuously photographed from one
angle only for at least 10 to 15 hours taking hundreds shots to capture
cityscapes of New York City 's
feeling moment from day to night; this was for each work he did for Day to
Night. He then continued his work on Photoshop to effectively blend in each image together.
I love his edited photographs The moment i saw them, i was instantly mesmerized by the beauty & his concept. Researching into Day to Night influenced greatly one of my concept in relation to rush hour from morning to the evening in rapid time.
Stephens edited his work in a way that it can easily communicate to his viewers what his concept is really about. The blended the photos together, on one half showing the moment when it was day and the other in the night. From the photographs you can get a sense what makesNew York City really
interesting and attractive; it's the energy flowing through out. From day to
night and it will still look lively. It looks surreal. I can see why people
call it "The city that never sleeps".
