Leeds Inspired poster by Anna Peaker

The Leeds based Graphic artist, Anna
Peaker designed this A3 commissioned poster for Leeds
inspired. Her poster is bold filled with simple coloured patterns that easily
portray architectural buildings; when I look carefully I can see there are patterns
take shapes of windows, stairs and even top of buildings. Anna Peaker said she
was inspired by the shapes and patterns of her home city Leeds “The poster itself was inspired by the patterns and shapes of the city,
there’s a great film by John Betjeman
about Leeds that a friend directed me to recently, where he muses about the old
architecture of Leeds. Culturally, I
think Leeds and the surrounding areas
are so unique, there’s always something to do or see whether it be music, film
or art events.” I am also from Leeds and i can see why Anna was inspired by the
buildings, there is cultural diversity and that has influenced the
architecture in Leeds . I like the fact she only used patterns for her
poster and it still managed to inform about the beauty Leeds
architecture buildings.
