Adobe Illustration - Marilyn Monroe

I was excited for todays session because we was working with Adobe illustrator and i have never used it before. Everyone reccomends Illustrator. For this session we was going to create a cartoon outcome of the famous Marilyn Manroe by tracing over her with the illustrator pen. We started by importing the image in illustrator then used the illustrator pen and traced her face carefully to ensure that we traced the details of the image well. 

After outlining the head and face we added colour to the piece. We began to add shadows around her neck, by using the pen again. 

We then began to add the details to the face, so we had to hide the new layers and go back to the image to trace properly the features. We used the pen to create dinner details and strokes on the eyes, nose and mouth as well as strands of hairs. I must say it was fun experience for me, even if i was not happy with my outcome i realise it was my first time using pen tool in illustrator. I will definitely use illustrator more.
