Ernesto Olivares
Ernesto Olivares was born in Barcelona, Spain. He is a Graphic designer who only specializes in creating 'Visual content' into Infographics and Data Visualization.
'The Best Dressed Cities in America' designed by Ernesto Olivares for a clothing company called 'Ardenreed.com'. His work shows the audience how fashion for men is slowly taking change again and I included Olivares work in my research because one of the meaning for the word Flux is constantly changing. His work helps the audience understand what used to be quite popular for centuries is coming back to fashion in some cities in america. His work also provided a great insight into how men in different cities in America style are changing from the influence of the popular TV show called 'Mad Men'.
The title is in bold and each word is in different styled fonts saying "The best dressed cities in America",the word "Cities" in light baby blue and bigger than the other words. The title already grabs the audiences attention because who would not be curious if their city is on the list for best dressed cities? The illustration of the man in a brown suit, looking confident instead of a woman is
sends a message that it aimed towards men in the audience. On the right of this illustration is another illustration of a city in black and white. The bottom of this it says "America is changing. The advent of Mad Men, Suits and White Collar has created a more style conscious man" He straight forward stated the TV shows for that had a great influence on this change. He added on a lot of estimated percentages he had to research and they are good for persuading the audience more.
In beginning of my research i was just thinking about ideas to do with buildings and architect, cityscapes change all the time so i not really concerned of ideas including people till now. Because of Olivares work i found a desire doing an idea based in men fashion, but not exactly the same way he approached his work by using a lot of data and statics. I would create a timeline so i can visually show the fashion changes on men and how Urban culture was one of the main influence.
