Group 8 presentation- Molly, John, Patrick and Yanda
Group presentation
How did we work in a team?
My city in flux group presentation was today around 9:30. When it came to deciding our roles within the team we felt it best to have the designer and copywriter be Molly because she had access to the program and more experience with it. We decided that it would be best to present our work through a keynote presentation, and keep the layout simple throughout. We all decided to be presenting our own work because it was fair this way, despite that some of us were more confident in speaking to a large crowd than others. Each of us would fully explain our intentions and aims of our final piece. We all kept in contact in a group message and kept each
other up to date with where we was up to on the group
presentation, also sharing our work. Research was a vital part of the City in Flux project, as we all
found it was where we gained most knowledge and
inspiration towards our final piece. Our final pieces focus on different aspects of
what could be seen as a ‘City in Flux’ and each are very diverse from each other.
My final outcome
My final idea was on urban fashion
based in Leeds. Urban fashion is hugely influenced by urban culture, especially
urban music. This peaked my interest in the relationship between fashion and
music. There is wide range of people who wear urban fashion in Leeds so I was
able to take all the photographs I needed. Lauren Goodwin’s work has always
been inspiring to me hence the way I designed some of my pages was to reflect
this appreciation. Using a rectangle utilising point, she designed three unique
examples of dynamic forces. She also used a variety of the different tones
through typography, which, to me, added meaning to her design. One of my
favourite pages in my magazine is the with urban wear examples. This is mainly
because the geometric shapes coincide well with the typography. The design
splits the visual space vertically down the centre of the composition making it
seem like a mirror image that joins to form a round plane.
